Ingredients for Baked Turkey Recipe
  • 1 turkey leg
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 lemon zest
  • 150 grams of butter at room temperature
  • 1/2 bunch of parsley
  • 3-5 cloves of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

For its vegetables:

  • 7-8 baby potatoes
  • 1/2 broccoli
  • 3-4 carrots
  • 2 onions

How to Make Baked Turkey Recipe?

  • Add lemon juice and zest, garlic, salt, black pepper, olive oil and chopped parsley to the softened butter at room temperature and mix until it becomes a puree. This mixture will create a delicious sauce to spread over the turkey.
  • Gently lift the skin on the thoroughly moistened turkey leg with a plastic spatula and make small cuts under the skin with a knife. Finally, apply the butter mixture well on the skin, cover the turkey with a stretch film and leave it to rest in the refrigerator overnight, if possible. This step will deepen the flavor of the turkey and allow the butter mixture to penetrate thoroughly into the meat.
  • Remove the turkey from the refrigerator at least 1 hour before cooking. This will help the turkey come to room temperature and contribute to a more homogeneous cooking process.
  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and place a baking bag in which you sprinkle flour and drain the excess flour.
  • Place the turkey in the cooking bag on a tray. Add the vegetables of your choice, olive oil, garlic, black pepper, salt, thyme and a quarter cup of water into another oven bag and close it. Place both baking bags with the tray in the oven. Cook the vegetables for about 40 minutes until soft and the turkey for at least 1.5 hours. Check the turkey during this time and cook for a while longer if necessary.
  • If you want to add broccoli among the vegetables, put the broccoli in the oven on baking paper and bake for a maximum of ten minutes so that its color does not darken. Open the oven bags after 1.5 hours and check whether the turkey is cooked. If necessary, cook for a while longer. The turkey in the oven is ready! You can consume the turkey and vegetables by placing them on a serving plate. Enjoy your meal!
