Çertme kebab, which originates from the Bodrum region and is actually made from lamb meat, whets the appetite with both its appearance and taste. However, for those who are bored of red meat or do not like it, chicken version is also a great alternative. Ingredients for Chicken Çökertme Kebab Recipe
  • 300 grams of chicken breast
  • 4 potatoes _
  • 1 bowl of garlic yoghurt
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 pinch of parsley

For frying:

  • 2 cups sunflower oil

For tomato sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 tomatoes _
  • 1 teaspoon of pepper paste
  • 1 teaspoon tomato paste

For chicken marinade:

  • 1 medium sized onion
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons of milk
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cumin

How to Make Chicken Çökertme Kebab Recipe?

  • First, cut the chicken into cubes or thin strips.
  • For the chicken marinade, grate the onion, mix it with milk and olive oil in a bowl, then add the spices and mix, add the chicken, mix again and put it in the refrigerator (if you have time, you can put it in the morning).
  • Cut the potatoes thinly, about the thickness of a toothpick, and put them in salt water. Leave them in the water for about 15 minutes. Then, drain them and put them on a clean cloth. Let them dry a little. You can remove excess water from them with paper towels.
  • Bring the sunflower oil to a temperature suitable for frying potatoes, fry the potatoes and when you take them out, put them on paper towels and let the oil drain.
  • Cook the marinated chicken in a pan with 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
  • For the tomato sauce, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the pan, add the tomatoes and tomato paste and mix well, after boiling, cook for 2-3 minutes and turn off the heat.
  • When all the ingredients are ready, you can start preparing the dishes.
  • Place the fried potatoes at the bottom of the plates and pour 4 tablespoons of garlic yoghurt on them. Then distribute the cooked chicken evenly on the plates and pour 3 tablespoons of tomato sauce over the chicken.
  • Your plates are ready, you can sprinkle parsley if you wish, enjoy your meal.
