  • 400 grams of chicken breast
  • 1 medium sized onion
  • 2 green peppers
  • 1 large tomato
  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of chili pepper
  • 2 roasted eggplants
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons grated cheddar cheese

How to Make Chicken Hünkar Beğendi Recipe?

  • Chop the chicken breast into cubes. Finely chop the onion and pepper. Also chop the tomatoes.
  • Heat a pot and add oil, chicken and onions, close the lid and cook over medium heat for about 15 minutes until the chicken absorbs and releases its juices.
  • Then add peppers and tomatoes to the meat and cook for another 5 minutes over low heat.
  • Finally, add the spices you want as much as you want, mix them, cook for 3-4 minutes, then turn off the stove and let it rest.
  • For the like part; Melt the butter in a pot, use very low heat at this stage, it may melt a little late but it shouldn't burn, then add the flour and start roasting by stirring quickly with a whisk.
  • When the smell of flour disappears and the smell of starch replaces it, that is, after about 1-2 minutes, add cold milk and continue whisking. At this stage, it is important to whisk quickly to avoid lumps.
  • After it reaches a thick consistency, add the eggplants and cheddar cheese. Mix a little and add black pepper and salt.
