Ingredients for Popcorn Chicken Recipe

For Crispy Chicken:

  • 4 chicken breasts (diced)
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • 2 tablespoons wheat starch
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 cup panko
  • 1.5 teaspoons of dried thyme
  • 1.5 teaspoons of dried rosemary
  • 2 sprigs of spring onion (for topping)

For Hot Sauce:

  • 5 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1.5 tablespoons sriracha sauce (or hot sauce)
  • 1.5 tablespoons of ketchup
  • 1.5 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 clove of garlic (crushed)
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar

For the Garlic Bread:

  • 1/2 piece of sourdough village bread
  • 4 tablespoons butter (at room temperature)
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 sprig of fresh rosemary
  • 1 sprig of fresh thyme
  • 4 tablespoons parmesan

How to Make Popcorn Chicken Recipe?

  • Toss the diced chicken breasts with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, allspice and paprika to taste.
  • Then add the chicken with the starch into the refrigerator bag and shake it so that all the chickens are covered in starch.
  • First coat the chicken in egg white, then cover it with panko mixed with thyme and rosemary. Fry in hot oil for 7-10 minutes.
  • Knead the butter with the garlic, fresh rosemary, fresh thyme and grated parmesan.
  • Make scratches on the bread and fry in a pan for 2-3 minutes. Then, spread it with the butter mixture you prepared and fry it in a hot pan, both sides, for 1 more minute.
  • For hot sauce; Mix mayonnaise, ketchup, sriracha, sweet chili sauce, paprika, honey, garlic and white vinegar in a bowl. If you have one, fill it in a saucepan.
  • Place crispy chicken on garlic bread. Sprinkle hot sauce and spring onions on top and serve hot.
