"Chicken with satay sauce" is one of the most well-known and common Asian delicacies. The dish, served by threading tiny chicken pieces onto tiny skewers, is an indispensable snack for cocktails and parties.
Chicken with satay sauce, marinated in Asian spices and flavors, has its roots in Indonesia but is very popular in all South Asian countries.
In fact, satay sauce is not just a term used for chicken, but the way of cooking all kinds of meat, even tofu, flavored with Asian spices and cooked on skewers, is called satay.
- 1 kg. chicken breast
- 20 garbage skewers
For marination:
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/3 cup coconut milk
- 2 teaspoons curry
- 2 tablespoons fish sauce (sold in supermarkets)
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 3 teaspoons brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon powdered paprika
For the dipping sauce:
- 3 tablespoons peanut butter
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1/2 cup hot water
- 1.5 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon curry
- 1 teaspoon paprika pepper
- 1/2 cup peanuts
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
How to Make Satay Sauce Chicken Recipe?
- Cut the chicken breast into 1.5-2 cm long and 1 finger thick pieces.
- Place the marinade ingredients in a deep bowl and mix.
- Add the chicken cut into small pieces to the marinade and mix until the ingredients are coated all over the chicken pieces. Stretch it and let it marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, prepare the dipping sauce. Put all the ingredients in a small saucepan, cook over low heat for about 10 minutes until it thickens.
- Cook the marinated chickens, either on the grill or in a pan, for 4-5 minutes on both sides.
- You can prepare the dipping sauce for presentation by placing it in a small bowl and the chicken on a serving plate next to it.
