Ingredients for Steamed Bonito Recipe
  • 2 medium sized bonito fish (sliced into rings)
  • 2 purple onions ( coarsely chopped)
  • 1 white onion ( coarsely chopped)
  • 3 green peppers ( chopped in medium size)
  • 2 cloves of garlic (sliced)
  • 2 large tomatoes ( sliced into rings)
  • Juice of 1/4 lemon
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • 1 tea glass of water

For the above:

  • 2-3 bay leaves
  • 5-6 slices of lemon
  • 1 tablespoon butter

How to Make Bonito Steamed Recipe?

  • Add olive oil to the pot and place purple onions on it.
  • Add white onions and peppers.
  • Arrange the fish and tomatoes on top. Add the lemons too.
  • Add bay leaves, water and butter pieces. Add garlic slices and lemon juice. Add salt and pepper.
  • If the pot you use at this stage is oven-proof, you can also put it in the oven. You can also make this recipe directly in the baking dish. Baking time in the oven will take 20-25 minutes at 190 degrees. If you want to cook it on the stove, close the lid of the pot and cook it first on high heat until the water in it boils, then on low heat for half an hour.
