The calamari, which stole our hearts with its pan-fried calamari dipped in tarator sauce, is cooked on the grill after being stuffed with finely chopped sautéed vegetables, shrimp and grated cheddar cheese.

Grilled stuffed calamari, whose recipe and photo we took from Balık Osman for Yemek.com , deserves to be ordered on its own, rather than just a hot appetizer.

How to Make Grilled Stuffed Squid Recipe?

  • Remove the internal organs of the squid by pulling from the tail. Remove the skin on the outside of the squid by quickly pulling it while holding the tip.
  • After removing the transparent bone in the middle in one piece, wash the inside and outside of the squid in plenty of water.
  • To scrape off the membrane layer remaining on the whole squid after removing its skin, go over it once with the back of the knife.
  • After stuffing, keep the baby squid, which will be cooked on the grill, in milk to soften it further, if desired.
  • To prepare the filling; Cut the peeled tomato into small cubes. Cut the green peppers in half and remove their seeds and chop them thinly.
  • Slice the garlic into rings. Heat the olive oil in a pan. Saute the garlic for 1 minute to release its flavor.
  • Sauté the cleaned small shrimps with the garlic for about 2 minutes, then add the chopped green peppers and tomatoes. Add salt.
  • Remove the stuffing you prepared from the stove, let it sit for a short time, and then mix it with grated cheddar cheese.
  • Fill the inside of the cleaned squid softened in milk with the mixture you prepared. Close the tip and mouth part with a toothpick. Place the stuffed calamari, which you cooked on the hot grill for 3-4 minutes, into the casserole dish.
  • To give flavor; Add finely chopped garlic, large-cut green pepper, mushrooms, soy sauce and butter and bake in a preheated oven at 190 degrees for about 10 minutes. Don't forget to turn it upside down in between and drizzle the sauce over it to prevent it from drying out.
  • Once grilled, serve the grilled calamari stuffing, which you have cooked in the casserole dish and in the oven, hot without waiting. Share this mouth-watering flavor explosion with sauteed vegetables with cheddar cheese and shrimp with your loved ones.
