Anchovy bread is a dish that looks like a corn flour cake, containing a few vegetables and pickled anchovies. Generally, yoghurt is preferred alongside cornbread with anchovies.

  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 potato 
  • 2 onions 
  • 1 bunch of chard
  • 1 bunch of mint
  • 2 cups corn flour
  • 1 tomato 
  • 1 water glass measure of oil
  • 1 bunch of parsley
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 bowl of anchovies (pickled)
  • 1 teaspoon (wiping) salt

How to Make Rize Style Anchovy Bread Recipe?

  • First, chop the onions finely.
  • Then, pour a small amount of oil into a suitable pan, add the onions and fry until they turn pink.
  • Chop the chard, parsley, mint and pepper into small pieces and add them to the pan. Continue roasting on low heat.
  • Then add grated potatoes and finely chopped tomatoes.
  • Then, separate the pickled anchovies from their bones, cut the anchovies in half and add them to the pan.
  • Lastly, add the tomato paste and mix well. After the vegetables are roasted, turn off the stove.
  • Afterwards, take corn flour, salt and a small amount of water into the mixing bowl and knead well.
  • Add the pan-fried ingredients to the flour mixture and mix well.
  • Pour the mixture you prepared onto the baking tray and spread it.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 200-250 degrees for about 40 minutes.
