Salt mixed with whipped egg whites is actually a cooking method. It is usually possible to cook whole fish or chicken this way. You won't believe how a whole sea bass is cooked completely in its own juice and in a healthy way, thanks to the salt you prepared as a layer.

Without even thinking for a moment that the fish might be overly salty, proceed with the cooking process and see the difference.

 
Ingredients for Salted Fish Recipe
  • 2 kilograms of sea bass
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander seeds
  • 1 medium sized lemon
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/4 bunch of parsley
  • 800 grams of fine salt
  • 3 egg whites (to be whipped with 1 teaspoon of salt)

How to Make Salted Fish Recipe?

  • Place the egg whites in a deep bowl. Make sure that the egg yolks do not mix even a little with the whites.
  • With the addition of salt, beat the egg whites with a mixer until you get a thick and stiff consistency.
  • When the egg whites thicken, add the salt little by little and mix with a spatula. The magic mixture that will cook the fish in its own juice and deliciously is ready.
  • After washing the whole fish, drain the water and dry the inside and surface thoroughly with a paper towel.
  • Cover the bottom of the baking tray with baking paper. Take a small amount of the salt mixture you prepared on wax paper. Spread the salt over a length the size of the fish.
  • Place the whole fish on the thin layer of salt. Place the washed and dried parsley, bay leaves, black peppercorns, coriander seeds and thinly sliced lemon slices inside.
  • Cover the top and surroundings of the fish with the remaining salt mixture, pressing firmly with your hand, leaving no gaps. The salt should be thick and the fish should be under a mound of salt.
  • If desired, place lemon slices on top and bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
  • When the cooking time is complete, the salt layer should have taken on a light color and hardened. Break the shell of the fish you took from the oven by gently hitting it with a knife using a meat mallet. Thus, remove the layer of salt covering the fish in one piece.
  • Set aside the remaining pieces of salt on the top and sides. Remove the skin from the fish and place the white meat cooked in its own juice onto serving plates with the help of a spoon. Share the fish you cook with your loved ones without compromising on health and taste.
