Sardine, also known as fire fish, one of the most valuable members of the anchovy family, has come to be a guest on your tables. With the start of the fish season, we have prepared one of our easiest fish recipes for you before the best season ends. If you want to make a different and quick fish dish that will make you feel like you are on the seashore, you are in the right place!
We wrap the sardine, which is meatier and oilier than anchovies, in vine leaves to keep it juicy and melt in our mouth. Moreover, we increase its flavor with the sour taste of the vine. You will love the sardine in vine leaves recipe, which you can make in a pan, in the oven, or even on the barbecue if you wish.

- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
How to Make Sardine in Vine Leaves Recipe?
- Thoroughly clean and remove any residue from your peeled sardines by running them through cold water.
- After cleaning, put it in a strainer and let the water drain thoroughly.
- Put the sardines in a large bowl and add 4-5 tablespoons of olive oil, salt and black pepper and mix well.
- Let the sardines, which you have seasoned and added with olive oil, rest like this for 15-20 minutes.
- Place the vine leaves with the veined part on top, tear off the stems, and wrap the sardines by placing them inside this part.
- Continue wrapping until you run out of vine leaves.
- Place your grill pan on the stove and start heating it over medium heat. Pour the remaining olive oil into the pan and spread.
- After your pan is heated, place the wrapped sardines into the pan.
- When the vine leaves change color and fade slightly, turn them to the other surface and continue cooking. Each surface will cook for approximately 4-5 minutes.
- Serve hot. Enjoy your meal!
