  • 1 medium sized onion
  • 1 medium sized tomato
  • 2 medium sized red peppers

For the meatball mixture:

  • 500 grams medium-fat ground beef
  • 1 grated onion
  • 1 egg _
  • 2 tablespoons of breadcrumbs (stale bread crumbs if desired)
  • 10 sprigs of parsley
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon allspice

For the sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons sunflower oil (olive oil if desired)
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 2 grated tomatoes
