How to Make Baked Stuffed Meatballs Recipe?

  • For the stuffing, fry the minced meat in a large pan with olive oil until the liquid is absorbed. Add the onion chopped into small cubes and crushed garlic along with salt to the roasted ground meat and continue roasting over medium heat until it softens.
  • Finally, add spices and crushed walnuts to the roasting mixture, fry for another 1-2 minutes and remove from the stove.
  • Add chopped parsley to the mixture and let it cool at room temperature.
  • For the outer layer, soak fine bulgur and semolina with warm water and let it rest for 10 minutes. Put grated onion, crushed potatoes, minced meat and tomato paste on the swollen bulgur and semolina.
  • Finally, add the spices and knead with the pedal tip of the stand mixer until smooth. During the kneading process, add cold water to the bowl little by little and check the consistency of the mixture from time to time.
  • Grease a square baking tray with olive oil and spread half of the outer mixture onto the bottom by pressing it with your hands.
  • Put the stuffing on the tray and press it lightly.
  • In order to place the top layer easily, spread the remaining mixture between two pieces of baking paper as wide as the tray, place it on top of the filling and push the edges inwards with the help of a spoon or knife.
  • Slice the stuffed meatballs on the tray before going into the oven, drizzle olive oil on them, and place a piece of walnut on each slice. Bake the stuffed meatballs in a preheated, 200 degree fanless oven for about 30 minutes until golden brown. Let your oven-baked meal rest for 10 minutes and serve with lemon. Enjoy your meal.
