For Mango Chutney:
- 1 mango _
- 1 onion _
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 1 teaspoon coriander seeds
- 1 teaspoon powdered turmeric
- 1 teaspoon of powdered ginger
- 1 teaspoon of ground red pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon chili pepper
- 4 tablespoons of oil
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- 1/4 teaspoon black cumin
For Bobotie:
- 2 spoonful butter
- 1 onion (diced )
- 2 cloves of garlic (crushed)
- 2 teaspoons of salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon curry
- 1 teaspoon of turmeric
- 1 teaspoon of ground red pepper
- 500 grams of ground beef
- 1 piece of stale bread
- 1.5 cups of milk
- 2 tablespoons raisins
- 1/2 cup mango chutney sauce
- 1 green apple ( grated)
- Peel of 1/2 lemon
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- 3 eggs _
- 1 teaspoon salt (for the top layer)
- 5 bay leaves
How to Make Bobotie Recipe?
- Chop the mango, onion and garlic into small cubes. Add oil, onion and garlic to the pan and cook over medium heat until softened.
- Add spices and fry. When the smell of the spices emerges, add the mango and reduce the heat when it starts to boil.
- When all the ingredients soften and have a jam-like consistency, add the black cumin and remove from the stove. Finally, add honey to the warm mixture and mix.
