We're going to Latin America for dinner tonight. We are making a delicious, spicy Mexican meat dish. It is enjoyed with the minced meat mixture that adds flavor to plain rice.
You are expected from the kitchen for a rich dinner. Let's start the preparations...
- 4 tablespoons of oil
- 1 onion _
- 1 capia pepper
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon of thyme
- 1 teaspoon of powdered paprika
- 500 grams of ground beef (medium fat)
- 2 cups tomato puree
- 2 cups broth (hot)
- 1 teaspoon tomato paste
- 1.5 cups of Mexican beans (boiled)
- 2 squares dark chocolate
For Service:
- 1 bowl of pickled jalapeno peppers
- 1 pinch coriander (or parsley leaves)
- 1 slice of lemon
- 1 bowl of plain rice
How to Make Chili Con Carne Recipe?
- Chop the onion, pepper and garlic into very small cubes and keep them aside.
- Heat a large surface and thick-bottomed pot on the stove, add oil and fry the chopped onion, pepper and garlic. When the vegetables become soft, add all the spices and continue roasting until they become hot and fragrant.
- Add the minced meat into the pot in small pieces, continue cooking until the minced meat releases its water and becomes crispy.
- Add tomato puree, broth and tomato paste to the minced meat and mix. After the boiling starts, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot and cook for about 1 hour until the food thickens. Don't forget to stir occasionally.
- When the dish thickens, add the beans and cook together for at least 15 more minutes.
- Before removing the food from the stove, add the dark chocolate and stir.
- When serving chili con carne, serve it with plain rice, jalepeno pickle slices, green leaves and lemon. Enjoy your meal.
