Meatballs are an indispensable part of our cuisine, which can be made in endless different ways, is loved by everyone from 7 to 70, and brings together entire tables.

In Cyprus, the motherland, there are two different local meatball recipes called peach kebab and potato meatballs. The recipe we hear as Cypriot meatballs is actually Cypriot potato meatballs.

Considering that meatballs and potatoes are a perfect combination, it seemed like a good idea to turn them into a meal.

  • 400 grams of minced meat
  • 2 large potatoes
  • 1 large size onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 bunch of parsley
  • 1 egg _
  • 3 tablespoons of breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of salt (can be reduced or increased)
  • 1 teaspoon grated nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 cup frying oil

How to Make Cyprus Meatballs Recipe?

  • Peel and grate the potatoes. Squeeze the water thoroughly and pour out the water.
  • Grate the onion, chop the garlic into small pieces, and chop the parsley finely.
  • Put all the ingredients in a deep bowl and knead for at least 10 minutes.
  • Shape as if you were making plump Inegöl meatballs and fry in hot oil.
