Harput meatballs are a delicious, local main dish consisting of meatballs prepared with the spice family of minced meat, fine bulgur and basil, mixed with tomato paste sauce. The meatballs, which smell so good thanks to the basil in the recipe, can also be served with the addition of whipped yoghurt if desired, and they are delicious.

- 500 grams of ground beef
- 1 cup fine bulgur
- 1 grated onion
- 1/2 bunch of parsley
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of chili pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 egg _
For the sauce:
- 2 tablespoons of oil
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 2 glasses of water
How to Make Harput Meatballs Recipe?
- In a bowl, mix the minced meat, fine bulgur, grated onion, parsley, salt, chili pepper, dried basil and egg and knead.
- Cut off meatball sized pieces and roll them.
- Heat the oil in a pan and add the tomato paste and fry.
- Add the dried basil and fry, then add the water and let it boil.
- Add the meatballs into the boiling tomato paste water and cook until the bulgur swells.
- Place the cooked meatballs on a serving plate and serve with their water. If you wish, you can serve it by sprinkling fresh basil or parsley.
