It is the most heartwarming version of meatballs. A delicious juicy meatball recipe comes from Elazığ cuisine. Harput meatballs are literally a legend with their spices.
For Meatballs:
- 250 grams of lean ground meat
- 250 grams fine bulgur
- 2 tablespoons semolina
- 1 teaspoon tomato paste
- 1 medium sized onion
- 1 egg _
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 bunch of parsley
For the Sauce:
- 3 tablespoons of oil
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 4-5 glasses of hot water
How to Make Harput Meatballs Recipe?
- Grate the onion into a raw meatball tray where you will knead the meatballs. Chop the parsley finely and add it to the tray.
- Add all other meatball ingredients to the tray and knead.
- Once the meatballs are assembled, we shape them into slightly cylindrical shapes the size of small walnuts.
- After preparing the meatballs, heat the oil in a deep pot.
- Add the tomato paste and fry well until its smell disappears. Add basil and water. When it boils, add the meatballs to the tomato paste water.
- Cook with the pot covered. Check the meatballs with a fork. Serve hot with water.
