It is a wonderful meatball recipe that is very practical as it is prepared in a pot, and you can serve it with buttered rice and a bowl of tzatziki at dinner if you wish... With the Izmir meatballs in a pot recipe, you will bring this flavor, which has a different taste and is loved by everyone, to your tables.
After preparing our meatballs, we will fry them and put them in the pot with the fried potatoes. After pouring a wonderful tomato sauce on them, we will cook them over low heat. Afterwards, our wonderful Izmir meatballs, sprinkled with bread and water, are ready. Bon appetit...
For the Meatballs:
- 500 grams of minced meat for meatballs
- 1 grated onion
- 1 egg _
- 3-4 tablespoons of breadcrumbs
- 6-7 sprigs of parsley (finely chopped)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon of ground red pepper
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For Vegetables:
- 4-5 tablespoons of olive oil
- 3-4 potatoes _
- 2 capia peppers
- 3-4 green peppers
- 3 cloves of garlic
For the Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1.5 glasses of water
- 1 grated garlic
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 pinch of black pepper
How to Make Izmir Meatballs Recipe in a Pot?
- Put the minced meat, onion, garlic, spices, soaked and squeezed bread crumbs, finely chopped parsley, eggs and spices in a bowl and knead.
- Let the thoroughly kneaded mixture rest in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes.
- After resting, cut walnut-sized pieces from the mortar and roll them horizontally and long.
- Chop the potatoes into finger-thick slices. Add olive oil to a large pot and fry the potatoes until lightly colored.
- Place the fried potatoes on a plate and fry the meatballs in the same oil.
- When the meatballs are cooked, put them in a different bowl. Arrange the potatoes at the bottom of the pot, the meatballs on top, and the chopped peppers, garlic and tomatoes on top.
- Mix all the ingredients for the sauce in a bowl. Pour it over the vegetables and meatballs stacked on top of each other.
- Cook on low heat with the lid closed for 15-20 minutes. Enjoy your meal!
