Ingredients for Meatballs with Pita Recipe

For the Meatballs:

  • 500 grams of medium-fat ground meat
  • 1 medium sized onion
  • 1 egg _
  • 2 tablespoons of breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 4 sprigs of parsley

For service:

  • 2 pieces of pita bread
  • 1 bowl of yoghurt

For the Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 clove grated garlic
  • 1 cup grated tomatoes

How to Make Meatballs with Pita Recipe?

  • To prepare the meatballs; Grate the onion with the fine part of the grater. Place the medium-fat ground meat into the mixing bowl. Add egg, grated onion and breadcrumbs.
  • Start kneading by adding chopped parsley and spices. Once the meatball mixture has thickened, place it in the refrigerator and let it rest for at least 30 minutes, if desired.
  • Then, tear off pieces of the size you desire, roll them in your palms, and then prepare flat meatballs.
  • Fry the meatballs you prepared by turning them upside down in a pan.
  • Spread butter on the pitas you cut into small squares and heat them in a pan.
  • For tomato sauce; Heat the olive oil in a small saucepan. Add the grated garlic and mix, then add the grated tomatoes. Cook over low heat until excess water is absorbed. Place the meatballs on the pita bread on a serving plate and drizzle the sauce over it.
  • Pour melted butter on top.
  • Serve with yoghurt and roasted vegetables, if desired. Enjoy your meal!
