Ingredients for Meatballs with Pita Recipe

For the meatballs:

  • 500 grams of minced meat
  • 1 egg _
  • 2 tablespoons of breadcrumbs
  • 1 handful of parsley leaves
  • 1 grated onion
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 2 tablespoons of water
  • 2 mini pitas
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 cup tomato sauce

For the above:

  • 1 bowl of whipped yoghurt
  • 4 sprigs of fresh thyme

How to Make Meatballs with Pita Recipe?

  • Add minced meat, egg, breadcrumbs, parsley, grated onion and spices to a large bowl.
  • Add water and knead thoroughly and continue kneading until you are sure that all the ingredients are well combined.
  • Take walnut-sized pieces from your meatball mixture, roll them in your hands, and then shape them by pressing them in your palms.
  • Cook the meatballs you prepared in a pan over medium heat for approximately 7-8 minutes until both sides are cooked.
  • Place the pitas on a baking tray, brush them with the melted butter and heat them in the oven at 180 degrees for about 8 minutes.
  • Cut the pitas you took out of the oven, place them on serving plates, and pour the heated tomato sauce over the pita slices.
  • Then place the meatballs on the pita bread and pour the whipped yoghurt evenly over the meatballs.
