Ingredients for Meatballs with Sauce Recipe

For the meatballs:

  • 400-450 grams of ground beef
  • 1/2 large size onion
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 egg _
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of chili pepper
  • 3-4 tablespoons of stale bread crumbs (or breadcrumbs)
  • 4 tablespoons of oil (sunflower or olive oil)

For the sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 3 tablespoons tomato puree
  • 1/2 teaspoon butter
  • 1/3 tea glass of hot water
  • 1 teaspoon of chili pepper

How to Make Meatballs with Sauce Recipe?

  • Place the minced meat in a large mixing bowl. Grate the onion and garlic on top. Add all the spices and eggs and knead.
  • Finally, add the stale bread crumbs, spoon by spoon, to make it thicker. Once all the mixture is combined, leave it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to rest.
  • After taking it out of the refrigerator, tear off cherry-sized pieces and roll them in your hands. You can shape it more easily if you wet your hands with water or lubricate them with oil.
  • Make sure that all meatballs are of equal size, neither too big nor too small.
  • Add oil to the pan and heat it well. Add the meatballs and start cooking without mixing. Cook like this for 2 minutes.
  • Cook for 3-4 minutes, shaking the pan occasionally. Carefully turn the meatballs that do not turn upside down. After making sure it is cooked, remove it from the pan.
  • Add tomato paste, tomato puree, chili pepper and water into the same pan. Mix and after it warms up, add the butter and let it combine.
  • Place the meatballs back into the pan and combine with the sauce. Gently shake the pan back and forth or use a spatula to coat it with the sauce. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
  • Serve while hot. You can serve it with rice or mashed potatoes. Enjoy your meal!
