Oruk kebab is a type of meatball, kebab from the Kilis region, prepared with fine bulgur and grated onion. Fine bulgur, which swells in a short time with hot water, is kneaded with grated onion, spices and fatty lamb mince. Delicious shish kebabs emerge.
You can say that Oruk kebab cannot be separated from bulgur and serve it with bulgur pilaf with vegetables.
- 600 grams of lamb mince (preferably fatty)
- 4 tablespoons fine bulgur
- 1 medium sized onion
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon of mint
- 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
For service:
- 1 piece of pita bread
- 2 medium sized green green peppers
How to Make Oruk Kebab Recipe?
- Place the fine bulgur in a small bowl. Soak it with 2 tablespoons of hot water. Cover it with stretch film and leave it for 8-10 minutes to swell.
- Peel and cut the onion in half and grate it with the fine side of the grater.
- Grated onion and swollen fine bulgur; Knead on a large tray with the addition of salt, mint and red pepper flakes.
- Put the fatty lamb mince on a tray and knead all the ingredients thoroughly until combined.
- Divide the mixture you prepared into four equal parts. Wet your fingers and spread the portioned minced meat mixture onto lightly oiled skewers.
- If possible, cook on the barbecue, grill or in the oven until well browned.
- Cut the pita bread you will use to serve into small cubes. Roast the peppers. Serve the oruk kebabs, which are frying and releasing their oil, hot after placing them on pita bread.
