For tomato sauce:

  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 medium sized tomatoes
  • 1 small size onion
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1/2 bunch of parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

For the above:

  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese

How to Make Oven Meatballs with Cheddar Recipe?

  • To prepare the meatball mixture; Grate medium-sized onion. Place the medium-fat ground meat in a deep mixing bowl.
  • After adding the egg, grated onion, breadcrumbs, salt and pepper, knead the meatball mixture.
  • Cut walnut-sized pieces from the meatball mixture and shape them by rolling them in your palms. Leave it in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes.
  • For tomato sauce; Chop the peeled tomatoes and onion into cubes. Finely chop the parsley.
  • Heat the olive oil in a wide-based pot. Sauté the diced onions until they turn a light colour.
  • After adding the chopped tomatoes and tomato paste, continue the roasting process. After adding salt, black pepper and hot water, boil the sauce for about 5 minutes.
  • Drop the meatballs you took out of the fridge into the sauce and cook over medium heat until they start to brown. After adding the chopped parsley, mix only once.
  • Place the meatballs in tomato sauce, which you cooked in the pot for about 10 minutes, onto a heat-resistant baking tray. Bake in a preheated 200 degree oven for about 20 minutes.
  • Finally, take it out of the oven and sprinkle grated cheddar cheese on it. Continue cooking the meatballs in this way for about 10 minutes until the cheese melts.
  • Serve the kashar meatballs hot from the oven, without being fooled by the long cheese, and share them with your loved ones.
