Let's introduce: Pleskavitsa, one of the most consumed delicacies in the Balkan region and Serbia... The most important feature of this dish, known as Bosnian meatballs or pljeskavica, is that it has huge meatballs. These meatballs are prepared from high-fat ground meat with a little spice added. In some regions, it is cooked with cheddar cheese. It is placed inside the puffed lavash bread, topped with a yoghurt sauce, and served with a side salad.

We took our inspiration from this region where meat is consumed fondly. We served it with soft bread, freshly sliced tomatoes, onions and potatoes roasted with butter. Ingredients for Pleskavitsa Recipe

For the meatball mixture:

  • 500 grams of fatty ground beef (preferably minced meat)
  • 1 medium sized onion (grated)
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 2 tablespoons bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons of water
  • 1 tablespoon of oil

How to Make Pleskavitsa Recipe?

  • In a large mixing bowl, add minced meat, onion, salt, black pepper, garlic, bread crumbs, 2 tablespoons of water and oil and mix until all the ingredients are mixed together.
  • Divide the minced meat mixture you prepared into 4 equal parts and obtain a large, round, giant meatball.
  • Add the meatballs to the heated pan and add a small amount of oil and cook until the back and front are browned.
  • Add the meatballs on soft flatbread and serve with sliced tomatoes, chopped onions, green peppers and potatoes roasted with butter. Enjoy it with your loved ones, enjoy your meal!
