Here we are with one of these delicacies, sömelek meatballs, which is one of the beauties of Kahramanmaraş that you cannot get enough of. Ingredients for Sömelek Meatballs Recipe
  • 1.5 cups fine bulgur (raw meatballs)
  • 1/2 tea glass of semolina
  • 300 grams of lean ground meat
  • 1 teaspoon of chili pepper
  • 1.5 tea glasses of warm water
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

For the Sauce:

  • 2 spoonful butter
  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • 1 teaspoon of ground red pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried mint
  • 1 teaspoon of chili pepper

For the above:

  • 1 cup whipped yogurt

How to Make Sömelek Meatball Recipe?

  • Mix raw bulgur and 1.5 tea glasses of warm water in a large tray and wait 5 minutes for the bulgur to swell.
  • Add semolina, minced meat, salt, chili pepper and black pepper and mix until all the ingredients are mixed well and form a paste.
  • Prepare pinkie-thick meatballs from the minced meat mixture.
  • Cook the meatballs in boiling water for about 5-6 minutes.
  • Take the cooked meatballs out of boiling water.
  • Heat the butter, oil, red pepper flakes, red pepper flakes and dried mint in a large pan.
  • Throw the Somelek meatballs into the heated oil, turn them once or twice, and then remove them from the stove.
  • Pour whipped yoghurt and some of the butter left in the pan over the meatballs you transfer to the serving plate and enjoy with your loved ones.
