A meatball recipe that is very easy to prepare and will delight everyone, young and old, with its taste. Coming from Izmir cuisine, here is tire meatballs!

 
Ingredients for Tire Meatballs Recipe

For the meatballs:

  • 400 grams of mixed minced meat (lamb-beef)
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

For the sauce:

  • 1 large tomato
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

For subservice:

  • 1 pita _
  • 2 spoonful butter

To fry in a pan:

  • 2 spoonful butter

How to Make Tire Meatballs Recipe?

  • Knead the meatball ingredients very well and let them rest in the refrigerator for an hour. String the rested meatballs on skewers in long thin strips. (I used wooden skewers. Before lining the meatballs, grease the skewers with light oil.)
  • It will taste delicious if barbecued, but if you don't have the opportunity and don't want to deal with a pan, use the method I used and bake it in the oven at 200 degrees until everything is cooked evenly. (Meanwhile, it leaves the oil on the tray, drizzle this oil over your meatballs while serving.)
  • Another method is to cook in a cast iron pan or a non-stick pan, turning it occasionally. Be sure to let the cooked meatballs rest before serving, and fry them in butter close to service.
  • Cook the tomatoes for the tomato sauce in a separate sauce pot over high heat. Add salt and turn off the heat.
  • Melt the butter in a pan, add the diced pita bread and turn it a few turns until it becomes crispy.
  • Arrange the buttered pitas under the serving plate. Place your meatballs on it. Pour tomato sauce over it. (If you wish, you can pour whipped yoghurt on the pitas and then add the meatballs and sauce. I preferred to serve it on the side.)
  • Lastly, sprinkle chopped parsley on top. Enjoy your meal.
