Even though the seasons change, there are always dishes that we would be happy to have on your table. Lentil soup in the morning and evening; summer, winter; It is one of the dishes that attracts attention on every table, regardless of Ramadan or Eid.
Red lentils are mostly on our tables with strained lentil soup. Another type of lentil that is as soft and delicious as red lentils is yellow lentils.
- 1 cup yellow lentils
- 1 large size onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 small size potato
- 6 glasses of vegetable broth
- 2 stalks of celery
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon of salt (can be reduced or increased)
- 1 teaspoon white pepper
- 2 tablespoons of oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 bay leaf
How to Make Yellow Lentil Soup Recipe?
- Chop the onion, chop the garlic finely, cut the celery stalks randomly and cut the potatoes into small cubes.
- Heat the oil in a pot and add the onion. Fry until the onions soften a bit.
- Add butter and garlic and continue frying.
- When the garlic and onion soften, add the celery stalks, potatoes and lentils and mix well.
- Add 6 glasses of hot vegetable broth (or drinking water).
- Add salt, pepper, bay leaf and turmeric and bring to boiling point.
- When it starts to boil, reduce the heat and let it simmer.
- Cook for 20-30 minutes until the lentils and potatoes are very soft.
- After making sure all the ingredients are cooked, remove the bay leaf and put it in the blender.
