Apple strudel (Apfelstrudel), the legendary dessert of Austrian cuisine with its thin dough, is wonderful with its apple filling and crispy dough layers that are opened in layers when cooked. The origin of the strudel recipe, which has a thin dough and many varieties such as spinach, cherry, orange, apricot and herb, dates back to the 1600s.
