How to Make Korean Potato Chicken Stew (Dak Dori Tang) Recipe?
- First, cut the chicken into large pieces. You can use all parts of a whole chicken for this dish. Peel the potatoes and carrots and cut them into large pieces.
- Heat a large, deep pot over medium heat. After adding oil to the hot pot, add the chicken, potatoes, carrots, peeled and coarsely chopped fresh ginger, peeled garlic, white parts of the spring onions, chili peppers and hot water, respectively. Close the lid of the pot and let the food cook over low heat without stirring.
- While the food is cooking, mix and combine the sauce ingredients in a separate bowl.
- Check the food by opening the lid from time to time. After the chicken and potatoes start to soften, add the coarsely sliced onion, coarsely chopped hot peppers and the sauce and shake the pot gently to ensure that the sauce reaches the bottom.
- Continue cooking the dish in this way over very low heat until the chicken and potatoes are soft.
- Place the cooked meal in bowls and serve by sprinkling finely chopped spring onion stalks and roasted sesame seeds on top. Enjoy your meal.
