How to Make Korean Style Potato Pancake (Gamja Jeon) Recipe?
- Grate the potatoes and onion using the cheese grater, which is the smallest side of the grater. If you do not have a very fine grater at this stage, you can also pass all the ingredients in the food processor until they become liquid.
- Gently strain the grated potato and onion mixture by hand or with a strainer and place it in a separate bowl. Add very finely julienned or coarsely grated carrots and spring onions cut into long strips and mix.
- Finally, add the starch to the vegetable mixture and mix well.
- Heat a large, non-stick pan over low heat. After adding oil to the hot pan, transfer the mixture to the pan and spread it by pressing.
- After the bottom of the pancake is browned, turn it over using a large plate or board and place it back in the pan. Continue cooking on low heat.
- After both surfaces of the pancake are fried, remove it from the stove, slice it and serve it with soy sauce for dipping. Enjoy your meal.
