How to Make Käsespätzle Recipe?
- To prepare the mixture, first whisk the eggs and milk. Add flour and spices and mix thoroughly. You will get a semi-fluid mortar with bubbles forming on it.
- Let the mortar rest for 10-15 minutes. Meanwhile, boil water in a large pot.
- On the one hand, chop the onion finely and place it in a pan with oil. Cook over low heat until caramelized. Be sure to check it as it may turn discolored quickly. When cooked, put it in a bowl.
- Add 1-2 teaspoons of salt to boiling water. Add a spoon of the mixture to the back side of a flat grater and move it back and forth with the help of a spatula to ensure that the spätzle mixture falls into the water in the pot. Lower the heat of the pot.
- Spätzles that float on the water are cooked. Strain the cooked ingredients as much as possible with a colander and put them in a separate bowl.
- Melt the butter in a separate pan, add the spätzles and mix. Add 3/4 cup of grated Izmir tulum on top. After seasoning with a pinch of freshly ground black pepper, mix well and place on a serving plate.
- Place caramelized onions in the middle of the plate and sprinkle the remaining grated cheese on top. Garnish with lightly chopped parsley leaves and serve. Käsespätzle is ready. Enjoy your meal!
