Rellanos, one of the delicious dishes of Mexican cuisine, takes its name from the Spanish word "relleno" meaning "stuffed". This dish is often called stuffed peppers and is filled with various peppers with a delicious filling.

Poblano peppers, one of the most commonly used pepper types in Mexico, are traditionally preferred for Rellanos. We used red capia peppers to make it in the easiest way.

Among the deep and rich flavors of Mexican cuisine, only rellanos will score points from your guests in terms of both visual and taste. Enjoy your meal!

 
Ingredients for Rellanos Recipe
  • 4 capia peppers (large)
  • 100 grams Hatay cheese
  • 2 eggs _
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 4 tablespoons of flour

To Cook:

  • 1.5 cups of oil

For the Sauce:

  • 2 tomatoes _
  • 1/2 onion _
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 handful of coriander leaves
  • 4 tablespoons of oil
  • 5 pickled jalapeno (sliced)
  • 1 pinch of salt

For Service:

  • 1 pinch coriander leaves
  • 2 lime slices

How to Make Rellanos Recipe?

  • Cut all the ingredients needed for the sauce into large pieces, put them in the food processor and pulse until they become liquid. Put the mixture in a small pot and close the lid. Cook over medium, low heat, stirring occasionally, until it thickens.
  • Roast the peppers, peel them, make a thin cut in the middle with a knife, fill in the sliced Hatay cheese (any meltable cheese can be used) and close it with a toothpick.
  • Let the oil heat in a large, not too deep pan over medium low heat.
  • Separate the yolks and whites of the eggs. Add some salt to the whites and foam them in a large bowl with a mixer. When the whites start to harden, add the yolks and mix a few more times.
  • Dip the cheese-stuffed peppers first into the flour, then into the egg mixture. Gently drain the excess and carefully fry in hot oil for 2-3 minutes until brown.
  • When serving, put the sauce on the plate first and place the fried pepper on it. Also serve with coriander leaves and lime slice. Enjoy your meal.
